MMR Holdings Inc. is a management and development company primarily focused on outpatient imaging facilities.   MMR has developed free-standing imaging facilities from coast to coast since 1992 using a tested business formula.  This formula includes astute selection of the best, most profitable imaging technology, aggressive marketing directly to patients and referring physicians, and a commitment to patient and physician service that is unmatched, even unheard of, in the health care industry.

MMR was founded in 1984 to provide consulting services to medical device start-up companies and turnkey services to medical device partnerships.  Over the years, MMR has provided marketing, sales and/or start-up capital to a number of medical technology firms, including Medstone International, Inc., which MMR’s principals co-founded and took public in 1988.  Medstone was one of the best-performing IPOs in 1988.  MMR has also developed more than thirty-five medical device centers across the U.S. that own and operate MRI, CT, x-ray, lithotripsy, stereotactic breast core biopsy, cryoblation and cosmetic laser centers.  These projects have included: (1) Netcare in Minneapolis, which was established in 1985 and was the first high-field mobile MRI project in the country; (2) West End MRI in Richmond, Virginia, which was established in 1992 and was one of the first open-sided MRI projects of any kind; and (3) OpenSided MRI of Indianapolis, which installed a Hitachi AIRIS device in October 1995 and was one of the first mid-field, open-sided MRI centers.  Since 1992, MMR has developed 23 imaging facilities centers, each through a separate limited liability company or corporation.

Ultimately, the keys to the success of MMR’s imaging facilities are sales, marketing and service.  MMR developed centers are each staffed with a marketing representative who regularly calls on referring physicians to demonstrate image quality, and ensure that physician and patient expectations are met and surpassed.  MMR refers to this type of marketing initiative as the “ground campaign.”  Finally, MMR spends considerable time and money on quality assurance initiatives, making sure that it is easy and quick for physicians to schedule patients, that turnaround time for images and reports is unparalleled and that patients feel like guests at a resort hotel when they visit MMR developed facilities.  MMR’s senior management regularly visits each of the communities in which it has developed facilities to meet with referring physicians, interact with imaging facility staff and make sure that centers function at the highest possible levels.  Even in cities where MMR-developed open-sided centers have encountered substantial competition, this willingness to invest in patient awareness and service has enabled MMR-developed centers to compete effectively and thrive.  Operators of other imaging facilities, whether large public companies or individual groups of radiologists, largely have failed to recognize the importance and value of these investments.

MMR’s experience in medical center development and management is proven.  MMR’s pioneering work in the establishment and marketing of imaging facilities, its reputation in dealing successfully with physicians and prestigious medical institutions and its unusual and innovative commitment to marketing and service in the health care industry create a winning combination that has served to handsomely reward past investors.

More recently, MMR has formalized its work with hospitals through the creation of a new subsidiary, MMR Hospital Ventures, L.L.C. (“MMRHV”).  MMRHV seeks to enhance hospital outpatient imaging business by incorporating MMR’s integrated service and marketing program for imaging into hospital business strategy.  MMR has realized dramatic positive results for hospital clients by focusing on outpatient service as a separate product line.
